Evening
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me”
(John 6:37).
This declaration involves the doctrine of election - there are some souls whom the Father gave to Christ. It involves the doctrine of effectual calling - these who are given must and will come to Him. Although they set themselves against it, they will be brought out of darkness into God's marvelous light. It teaches us he the necessity of faith - even those who are given to Christ are not saved unless they come to Him. There is no other way to heaven but by the door, Christ Jesus. All that the Father gives to our Redeemer must come to Him; therefore, none can come to heaven unless they come to Christ. Oh, the power and majesty in the words “shall come!” The Lord Jesus uses His messengers, His Word, and His Spirit to sweetly and graciously compel men to come that they may eat of His marriage supper. He does not violate the free choice of man, but draws him by the power of His grace. I may exercise power over another man's will. Yet, that other man's will may be perfectly free, because the constraint is exercised in a manner which is agreeable with the laws of the human mind. Jesus uses irresistible arguments addressed to the understanding, mighty reasons appealing to the heart, and the mysterious influence of His Holy Spirit to operate upon all the powers and passions of the soul. Where the man was once rebellious, he now yields cheerfully to Jesus' rule, subdued by sovereign love. Those whom God has chosen willing and joyfully accept Christ and come to Him with simple and pure faith. They rest upon Him as all their salvation and all their desire. Have you come to Jesus in this way?

○ 요절: "아버지께서 내게 주시는 자는 다 내게로 올 것이요, 내게 오는 자는 내가 결코 내어 쫓지 아니하리라."(요 6:37)
이 선언의 말씀은 선택의 교리를 포함하고 있습니다. - 하나님 아버지께서 그리스도에게 주신(예정되어 있는) 영혼들이 있습니다. 그것은 유효적 소명(有效的 召命)의 교리를 포함하고 있습니다. - 그리스도께 주신 이들은 반드시 그리스도에게 와야 하고 또 올 것입니다.
비록 그들은 그들 자신들을 그에 반대되게 놓을지라도 (하나님의 소명을 거부할지라도) 그들은 어둠에서 꺼내져서 하나님의 놀라운 빛으로 들어갈 것입니다.
그것은 우리에게 믿음의 필요성을 가르칩니다. - 그리스도께서 주신 자들일지라도 그들이 주님께 오지 않는 한 구원받지 못합니다.
문이신(주1) 그리스도 예수로 말미암지 않고는 천국으로 가는 다른 길이 없습니다. 하나님 아버지께서 우리의 구속주에게 주신 모든 사람들은 반드시 주님께 나아와야 합니다. 그러므로 그들은 그리스도에게로 오지 않는 한 누구도 천국에 들어갈 수 없습니다.
오, "올 것이요(shall come)!" 라는 말씀 안에 있는 권능과 위엄이여!
주 예수님은 자비롭고 은혜롭게 사람들이 그의 혼인잔치상을 먹으러 오도록 그의 사자들, 그의 말씀, 그리고 그의 성령을 사용하십니다.
주님은 인간의 자유 선택을 해치지 않으시고, 그의 은혜의 능력으로 그를 이끄십니다. 나는 다른 사람의 의지에 대하여 힘을 행사할지도 모릅니다. 그러나 그 타인의 의지는 완전히 자유로울 것입니다. 왜냐하면 그 강제의 힘은 인간의 지성의 법칙에 화합하는(일치하는) 방법으로 행사되기 때문입니다.
예수님은 지성(지식인)에게 말을 걸때에는 저항할 수 없는 논거를 사용하시고, 감성(동정심)에 호소할 때에는 강한 이유들을 사용하시고, 영혼의 모든 능력과 열정에 작용하기 위해서는 신비로운 감화력을 사용하십니다.
그 사람이 이전에 반역했던 곳에서, 그는 예수님의 주권적인 사랑에 정복되어 지금은 예수님의 지배에 기쁘게 순종합니다.
하나님께서 택하신 사람들은 기꺼이 그리고 기쁘게 그리스도를 영접하고 온전하고 순결한 믿음을 갖고 주님께 나아옵니다.
그들은 그들의 모든 구원과 그들의 모든 소망으로서 주님을 의지합니다. 그대는 이런 방식으로 예수님께 나아왔습니까?
