Evening
"Encourage him"(Deuteronomy 1:38).
God calls His people to encourage one another. He did not say to an angel, "Gabriel, My servant Joshua is about to lead My people into Canaan - go, encourage him." God never works needless miracles. If His purposes can be accomplished by ordinary means, He will not use miraculous power. Gabriel would not have been half as well suited for the work as Moses was. A brother's sympathy is more precious than an angel's ministry. An angel had never experienced the hardness of the road or seen the fiery serpents or led the stiffnecked multitude in the wilderness as Moses had done. We should be glad that God usually works for man through other men. It forms a bond of brotherhood, and being mutually dependent on one another, we are fused more completely into one family. Take this evening's text as God's message to you. Labor to help others and especially strive to encourage them. Talk cheerfully to the young and anxious inquirer. Lovingly try to remove stumbling blocks out of his way. When you find a spark of grace in the heart, kneel down and blow it into a flame. Allow the young believer to discover the roughness of the road by degrees, but tell him of the strength which dwells in God, of the sureness of the promise, and of the beauty of communion with Christ. Aim to comfort the sorrowful and to refresh the weary in spirit. Encourage those who are fearful to go on their way with gladness. God encourages you by His promises. Christ encourages you as He pints to the heaven He has won for you. The Spirit encourages you as He works in you to do His will. Imitate divine wisdom and encourage others.

○ 제목: 그를 담대하게 하라.
○ 요절: "너의 종자 눈의 아들 여호수아는 그리로 들어갈 것이니 너는 그를 담대케하라. 그가 이스라엘에게 그 땅을 기업으로 얻게 하리라." (신 1:38)
하나님은 그의 백성에게 서로 담대케 하라고 명하십니다. 하나님은 천사에게 "가브리엘아, 나의 종 여호수아가 나의 백성을 가나안으로 인도하려고 한다. - 그러니 가서 그를 담대하게 하라."고 말씀하시지 않았습니다. 하나님은 결코 불필요한 이적(기적)을 행하시지 않습니다. 만일 하나님의 목적이 정상적인 방법으로 성취될 수 있다면 그는 기적적인 능력을 사용하시지 않을 것입니다.
가브리엘은 모세보다 그 일에 절반도 적합하지 않았을 것입니다. 한 형제의 사랑(동정)이 한 천사의 사역보다 더 소중합니다. 천사는 모세처럼 험한 광야길을 결코 경험하지 못했고, 광야의 불뱀들을 마주친 적이 없고, 광야에서 목이 곧은(고집센) 백성들을 인도한 적이 없었습니다.
하나님께서 사람을 돕기 위하여 대개 다른 사람을 통하여 역사하시는 것을 우리는 기뻐해야 합니다. 그것은 형제애의 결속을 형성하고, 서로 다른 형제를 의지함으로써 우리는 더욱 온전히 한 가족으로 연합하게 됩니다.
오늘 저녁의 본문(신 1:38)을 그대에게 주시는 하나님의 메시지로 받으십시오. 다른 사람을 돕기 위하여 수고하십시오. 그리고 특별히 그들을 담대하게 하도록 노력하십시오.
젊고 열심인 탐구자에게 즐겁게 말해 주십시오. 사랑의 마음으로 그가 가는 길에서 걸림돌들을 제거하기 위한 노력을 하십시오. 그 마음속에서 은혜의 불꽃을 발견한다면, 무릎을 꿇고 그것이 불길로 변하도록 불어주십시오. 초신자에게는 급히 하지 말고 점진적으로 신앙의 길의 어려움(거침)을 알게 하십시오. 그러나 하나님 안에 거하는 능력과 하나님의 약속의 확실성과 그리스도와의 친교의 감미로움을 그에게 말해 주십시오. 슬퍼하는 자들을 위로하고 영혼이 지친자들이 새힘(기운)을 내도록 애쓰십시오.
두려워하는 자들이 즐겁게 자기의 길을 계속 가도록 담대하게 해주십시오. 하나님은 그의 약속에 의하여 그대를 담대하게 하십니다. 그리스도는 그가 그대를 위하여 쟁취하신 천국을 가르치심으로써 그대를 담대하게 하십니다.
성령은 그의 뜻을 행하시기 위하여 그대 안에서 역사하심으로써 그대를 담대하게 하십니다. 하나님의 지혜를 본받으십시오. 그리고 다른 사람들을 담대하게 하십시오.
