Evening

"A people near unto him"(Psalm 148:14).

   The old covenant required that a distance be kept between God and man. When God appeared to His servant Moss, He said, "Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off they feet"(Exodus 3:5). When He manifested Himself upon Mount Sinai to His own chosen and separated people, one of the first commands was, "Set bounds about the mount"(Exodus 19:23). Both in the sacred worship of the tabernacle and in the temple, the thought of distance was always prominent. Only the priests dared to venture into the inner court. The innermost place, the holy of holies, was entered once on the year and only by the high priest. It was as if the Lord, in those early ages, wanted to teach man that sin was utterly loathsome to Him. When He came nearest to them, He still made them feel the separation between a holy God and an impure sinner. When the gospel came, we received a new invitation. The word "Go"was exchanged for "Come." Distance gave way to nearness. We who were far off were brought near by the blood of Jesus Christ (See Ephesians 2:13). Incarnate Deity has no wall of fire surrounding it. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"(Matthew 11;28) is the joyful proclamation of God as He appears in human flesh. What safety and privilege is available in this nearness to God through Jesus! Do you know it by experience? If you know it, are you living in the power of it? This nearness is marvelous, yet it is to be followed by an even greater nearness. It will be said, "The tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them"(Revelation 21:3).

  ¿¾ ¾ð¾à(±¸¾à)Àº Çϳª´Ô°ú »ç¶÷ »çÀÌ¿¡ °Å¸®°¡ À¯ÁöµÇ¾î¾ß ÇÒ °ÍÀ» ¿ä±¸Çß½À´Ï´Ù(Áï, Çϳª´Ô°ú »ç¶÷ »çÀÌ´Â ¸Ö¸® ¶³¾îÁ®¾ß Çß½À´Ï´Ù).
