Evening
"And round about the throne were four and twenty seats; and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment"(Revelation 4:4).
These representatives of the saints in heaven are said to be around the throne. In Song of Solomon 1:12, Solomon sings of the king sitting at his table. Some expositors supposed it to be a round table and have concluded that there is an equality among the saints. That idea is conveyed by the equal nearness of the four and twenty elders. The glorified spirits in heaven are blessed with nearness to Christ, clear vision of His glory, constant access to His court, and intimate fellowship with Him. There is no difference in this respect between one saint and another. All the people of God - apostles, martyrs, ministers, or obscure believers - will all be seated near the throne. They will all be near to Christ, all delighting in His love, all eating and drinking at the same table with Him, all equally beloved as His favorites and friends, even if they are not all equally rewarded as servants. Let believers on earth imitate the saints in heaven in their nearness to Christ. May Christ be the object of our thoughts and the center of our lives. How can we bear to live at such a distance from our Beloved? Lord Jesus, draw us nearer to You! Permit us to sing, "His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me"(Song of Solomon 2:6).

○ 요절: "또 보좌에 둘려 이십사 보좌들이 있고 그 보좌들 위에 이십사 장로들이 흰 옷을 입고 머리에 금면류관을 쓰고 앉았더라."(계 4:4)
본분 요절은(계 4:4) 천국에 있는 성도들의 대표자(이십사 장로)들이 하나님의 보좌에 둘려 있다고 말하고 있습니다.
아가서 1장 12절에서 솔로몬은 그의 상(床, table)에 앉아 있는 왕에 대하여 노래합니다. 어떤 주석자들은 왕의 상을 둥근상(원탁)이라고 생각했습니다. 그리고 성도들은 모두 평등(차별이 없음)하다고 결론했습니다. 그 생각은 이십사 장로들이 동일한 근접 위치에 있다는 의미를 전하고 있습니다(즉 성도들은 모두 똑같은 하나님과의 친밀성을 갖고 있다는 의미를 알려주고 있습니다).
이미 천국에 올라가 있는 영화롭게 된 영혼들은 그리스도에게 가까이 있으며, 그의 영광을 밝게 보며, 그의 궁정에 항상 출입하며 주님과 친밀한 교제를 나누는 은혜(축복)를 받고 있습니다. 이점에서 한 성도와 다른 성도 사이에는 아무런 차별이 없습니다.
하나님의 모든 백성들 [즉 사도들, 순교자들, 목회자들 또는 무명(별로 눈에 띄지 않는)의 신자들)]은 모두 보좌 가까이에 앉을 것입니다. 그들은 모두 그리스도에게 가까이 있을 것이며, 그의 사랑을 기뻐하면서, 모두 같은 식탁에서 먹고 마시면서, 비록 종들로서는 똑같은 상급을 받지 않는다 하더라도 그분의 총신(총애받는 신하)과 친구로서는 모두 똑같이 사랑을 받을 것입니다.
땅에있는 성도들이여, 그리스도를 가까이 하는 점에 있어서는 하늘에 있는 성도들을 닮읍시다. 그리스도께서 우리의 생각들의 목적이 되고 우리의 삶의 중심이 되기를 기원합니다.
우리는 우리의 사랑하는 분으로부터 그렇게 멀리 떨어져 사는 것을 어떻게 견디어 낼 수 있단 말입니까?
주 예수님, 우리를 더 주님 가까이로 이끌어 주소서. 우리로 하여금 "그가 왼손으로 내 머리에 베개하고 오른손으로 나를 안는구나"(아 2:6) 라고 노래하게 하소서.
