Evening
"The forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace"(Ephesians 1:7).
Could there be a sweeter word in any language than that word forgiveness, when it is spoken in a guilty sinner's ear? Forever blessed is the dear light of pardon which shines into the condemned man's cell and gives the perishing a gleam of hope amid the midnight of despair. Can it be possible that my sin is forgiven forever? Hell is my destiny as a sinner - there is no possibility of escape while sin remains upon me. Can the load of guilt be lifted and the crimson stain removed? Jesus tells me that I may be righteous because of Him. The revelation of atoning love not only tells me that pardon is possible, but that it is secured to all who rest in Jesus. I believe in the atonement made by Jesus' blood, and, therefore, my sins are forever forgiven because of His substitutionary pains and death. My soul dedicates all her praise to Him who, because of His love, became my substitute and accomplished my redemption. What riches of grace does free forgiveness exhibit! Grace forgives all, forgives fully, forgives freely, and forgives forever! When I think of how great my sins were, how dear were the precious drops which cleansed me from them, and the gracious act which sealed my pardon, I am filled with wondering, worshipping affection. I bow before the throne which absolves me. I clasp the cross which delivers me. I serve the Incarnate God through whom I am a pardoned soul.

○ 요절: "우리가 그리스도 안에서 그의 은혜의 풍성함을 따라 그의 피로 말미암아 구속 곧 죄사함을 받았으니."(엡 1:7)
"사함(forgiveness, 용서함)"이란 말이 죄책을 느끼는 죄인의 귀에 들릴 때 어떤 말도 이 말보다 더 감미로운(달콤한) 단어가 있을 수 있겠습니까? 사형수(정죄된 자)의 감방안에 비추고, 깊은 절망의 밤중에서 멸망해 가는 자들에게 소망의 빛을 주는 귀중한 용서의 광선은 영원히 복됩니다.
나의 죄가 영원히 사함받는 것이 가능할 수 있겠습니까? 지옥은 죄인인 나의 운명입니다. - 죄가 나에게 머물러 있는 한 지옥을 피할 가능성은 없습니다. 죄책의 짐이 들어 올려지고 진홍빛 같은 죄의 때(얼룩)가 제거될 수 있겠습니까? 예수님은 내가 그분의 덕택으로 의로워질 수 있다고 말씀하십니다.
대속(속죄)의 사랑의 계시는 용서(죄사함)는 가능할 뿐만 아니라 그것은 예수님을 믿는 모든 사람에게 보증(보장)된다고 나에게 말씀하십니다. 나는 예수님의 피로 이루어진 속죄(대속)를 믿습니다.
그러므로 그분의 대속적 고난과 죽음 때문에 나의 죄들은 영원히 사함받았습니다. 나의 영혼은 그분의 사랑 때문에 나의 대리인(대속자)이 되시어 나의 속죄를 성취하신 분에게 모든 찬양을 바칩니다. 값없이 주신 용서(죄사함)가 얼마나 큰 은혜의 부(riches)를 나타냅니까!
은혜가 모든 죄를 사하시고, 충분히 사하시고, 값없이 사하시고, 영원히 사하십니다. 내가 나의 죄들이 얼마나 엄청난지(큰지), 나를 죄로부터 깨끗케 하신 귀중한 핏방울들이 얼마나 소중한지, 그리고 나의 용서를 보증하신 그 행위가 얼마나 은혜로운지를 내가 생각할 때 나는 놀라운 감동과 경배의 애정으로 넘칩니다.
나는 나를 방면하신 보좌 앞에 절(경배)을 합니다. 나는 나를 구원한 십자가를 끌어안습니다. 나는 성육하신 하나님(예수 그리스도)으로 말미암아 용서받은 영혼으로서 바로 그분을 섬깁니다.
