"Ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3: 26).
The fatherhood of God is common to all His children. Ah, Little-faith, you have often said, "O that I had the courage of Great-heart, that I could wield His sword and be as valiant as He! But, alas, I stumble at every straw, and a shadow makes me afraid." Listen, Little-faith, Great-heart is God's child, and you are God's child too. Great-heart is not one bit more God's child than you are. Peter and Paul, the highly-favored apostles, were of the family of the Most High. So are you also. The weak Christian is as much a child of God as the strong one. All the names are in the same family register. One may have more grace than another, but God, our heavenly Father, has the same tender heart toward all. One may do more mighty works and may bring more glory to his Father, but he whose name is the least in the Kingdom of heaven is as much the child of God as he who stands among the King's mighty men. Let this cheer and comfort us when we draw near to God and say, "Our Father." Yet, while we are comforted by knowing this, let us not rest contended with weak faith, but ask, like the apostles, to have it increased. However feeble our faith may be, if it is real faith in Christ, we will reach heaven at last. If, then, you would live to Christ's glory and be happy in His service, seek to be filled with the spirit of adoption more completely, until perfect love casts out fear.

요절 : "너희가 다 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 아들이 되었다."(갈3:26)
하나님은 그의 모든 자녀에게 똑 같은 아버지십니다.(즉 하나님의 아버지 자격은 그의 모든 자녀에게 공통합니다) 아, 믿음이 적은 자여, 그대는 종종 이렇게 말하지요. "오, 나도 위대한 믿음의 마음을 가진 사람의 용기를 갖고, 그분의 검(sword)을 휘두르며(역자주1), 그분처럼 용감할 수 있다면! 그러나 아, 나는 지푸라기에도 걸려 넘어지고, 그림자도 두려워하는 도다."
믿음이 적은 자여, 들으십시요. 큰 믿음을 가진 자가 하나님의 자녀이지만 그대도 또한 하나님의 자녀입니다. 그러므로 믿음이 큰 사람이 그대보다 조금도 더한 아들의 신분을 갖지 않습니다.(즉 똑같은 아들의 신분을 갖습니다) 높은 존경을 받는 사도들인 베드로와 바울은 지존 자(지극히 높으신 분)이신 하나님의 가족에 속합니다. 또한 그대도 하나님의 가족입니다. 믿음이 약한 그리스도인도 믿음이 강한 그리스도인 만큼 하나님의 자녀입니다.
모든 그리스도인의 이름들이 똑같은 하나님의 가족명부 안에 들어있습니다. 한 사람이 다른 사람보다 더 많은 은혜를 받을 수도 있을 것입니다. 그러나 우리의 하늘 아버지이신 하나님은 모든이에게 똑같은 사랑의 마음을 갖고 계십니다. 또 어떤이는 더 많은 능력의 역사를 행하여 하나님 아버지께 더 많은 영광을 돌릴 수 있습니다. 그러나 천국에서 가장 적은 자의 이름(보잘 것없는 이름)을 갖고 있을 지라도 그 왕국의 능력자 중에 있는 사람과 똑같이 하나님의 자녀입니다.
그러므로 우리가 하나님께 가까이 나아가 하나님을 "우리의 아버지"라고 부를 수 있다는 이 사실로 인해 기뻐하고 위로를 받읍시다. 그러나 우리가 이 사실을 알고서 위안을 받는 동시에 약한 마음에 만족하지 맙시다. 오히려 사도들처럼(바울과 베드로 등) 믿음을 더 크게 해주시길 주님께 간구하십시오.
우리의 믿음이 아무리 연약할지라도, 그것이 그리스도를 믿는 진실한 믿음이라면 우리는 결국(반드시) 천국에 도달할 것입니다. 그러나 진실로 그대가 그리스도의 영광을 위해 살고, 또 주를 섬기는 행복을 소원한다면, 온전한 사랑이 두려움을 내어 쫓을 때까지(역자주2) 양자의 영(성령)을 충만케 하여 주시기를 간구하십시오.
