"Multitudes followed him, and he healed them all" (Matthew 12: 15).
What a multitude of hideous sickness must have thrust itself under the eye of Jesus! Yet, we do not read that He was disgusted. What a variety of evils must have met at His feet! Yet, He was ready for every new shape of evil and was victor over it in every form. It did not matter if it was fever, palsy, madness, leprosy, or blindness--all knew the power of His word and fled at His command. It is even so this morning. Whatever my own case may be, the beloved Physician can heal me. Whatever may be the state of others whom I may remember in prayer, I have hope in Jesus that He will heal them of their diseases. My friend, I have hope for all when I remember the healing power of my Lord. He still dispenses His grace and works wonders among the sons of men. Let me go to Him at once in earnest. Let me praise Him this morning as I remember how He performed His spiritual cures by taking on Himself our sicknesses. "By his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53: 5). The Church on earth is full of souls healed by our beloved Physician. The inhabitants of heaven itself confess that He healed them all. Come, then, publish abroad the virture of His grace, and let it be "to the Lord for a name; for an everlasting sign which shall not be cut off" (Isaiah 55: 13).

요절 : "예수께서 아시고 거기를 떠나가시니 사람이 많이 좇는지라 예수게서 저희 병을 다 고치시고"(마12:15)
끔찍한 병자들의 큰 무리가 예수님의 눈앞에 밀어 닥쳤던 것같습니다! 그러나 성경에는 주님께서 귀찮아 하셨다고 기록되어 있지 않습니다. 다양한(별의 별종의)병자들(evils)이 주님의 발 앞에 모였음에 틀림없었습니다!
그러나 주님은 여려가지 새 모양의 악질(惡疾, 나쁜 병)을 고치실 준비가 되어 있었고 그것을 여러 가지 방법으로 고치셨습니다.(이기셨습니다.) 그것이 열병이든, 중풍 병이든, 미친 병(지랄 병)이든, 문둥 병이든, 소경 병이든 상관이 없었습니다. 이 모든 것들이 주님의 말씀의 능력을 알았고, 주님의 명령(말씀)에 다 도망했습니다. 그것은 오늘 아침도 마찬가지입니다. 제가 무슨 병에 걸렸든지 제가 사랑하는 의사인 주님은 저를 고쳐 주실 수 있습니다. 그리고 제가 기도 속에서 기억하는(즉 제가 기도해 드리는) 다른 분들의 상태(형편)가 어떠하든지, 저는 주님께서 그들의 병을 치료해 주실 것이라는 소망을 예수 안에서 갖습니다.
나의 친구여, 나는 나의 주님의 전능하신 치료(치유)의 능력을 생각할 때 모든 분들에 관하여 소망을 갖습니다. 주님은 지금도 여전히 그의 백성들 중에서 그의 은혜를 베푸시고 기적을 행하십니다. 그러므로 지금 당장 진심으로(진지하게) 제가 주님께 나아가게 하여 주십시오. 오늘 아침 주께서 우리의 병들을 주님 자신이 짊어 지심으로서(역자주1), 주님의 영적치료를 행하신 것을 생각하며 주님을 찬양케 하여 주십시오,
"그가 채찍에 맞음으로 우리가 나음을 입었도다"(사53:5)
이 땅에 있는 교회에는 우리의 사랑하는 의사이신 예수님에 의하여 치료된 영혼들로 가득차 있습니다. 물론 천국에 있는 거주자들(성도들)도 주님께서 자기들 모두를 치료해 주었다고 고백합니다. 자, 그렇다면 주님의 은혜의 덕을 널리 공포하십시오, 그리고 "그것이 여호와의 명예가 되며, 또 끊어지지 않을 영영한 표징"이되게 하십시오.(사55:13)
